Henry C. Spicer Scholarship History
In 1992, Burns Avenue Baptist Church, a Minnesota religious association, and CB North Central (now Venture Church Network Midwest) entered into an agreement to establish The Henry C. Spicer Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is available to High School seniors who attend a VCN Midwest (CBNC) affiliated church, and are planning to continue their education post High School. The eligible applicant must be a committed Christian, showing evidence of the desire to follow the Lordship of Christ in his or her life.
VCN Midwest appoints a committee to evaluate the participants’ applications. The number of non-renewable scholarships and the amount varies each year, but previously awards have ranged from $300 to $2,000. Scholarship money is sent directly to the college or university of the recipient’s choice.
All VCN Midwest affiliated churches are encouraged to invite their Senior High School students to apply for the Henry C. Spicer Scholarship.
Applications
for 2024-2025 scholastic year must be post-marked by April 15, 2024. Click here for an application.
